Dumog - Grappling

Welcome to this page about the Filipino martial arts of Eskrima, Kali, and Arnis.

Dumog

Dumog is the Flipino word for grappling. Dumog training includes grappling techniques, off balanncing, takedowns, chokes/strangles and also joint locking. Joint locks are typically applied to the fingers, wrists, elbows and shoulders. They can be applied singularly or in combination, know as 'lock flows' or luyong, where a practitioner flows between different locking techniques. Chokes and strangles are useful restraints and involve stopping the air or blood flow
